1622 – 16220: Manufacture of builders’ wood products

This group includes:

– Manufacture of wood products mainly used in the construction industry, specifically:

+ Rafters, purlins, beams, girders, bracing bars,

+ Prefabricated roof support frames made of wood, of metal joined together and of thin plywood,

+ Doors, windows, shutters, door frames, whether or not fitted with metal accessories such as hinges, locks…

+ Stairs, railings,

+ Cladding panels, wood beads, molded wood,

+ Parquet flooring, wood floor panels assembled into sheets.

– Manufacture of prefabricated building frames or parts of buildings, mainly of wood;

– Manufacture of mobile wooden houses;

– Manufacture of wooden parts (except articles without legs).

Exclusions:

– Manufacture of unassembled wooden flooring is classified in group 1610 (Sawmilling, planing of wood and wood preservation);

– Manufacture of kitchen cabinets, bookcases, wardrobes, etc. is classified in group 3100 (Manufacture of beds, cabinets, tables, chairs);

– Manufacture of legless partition panels is classified in group 3100 (Manufacture of beds, cabinets, tables, chairs).

Thus, under the above regulations, manufacturing construction wood products is classified in economic sector 1622 – 16220 (Manufacture of builders’ wood products).

Who is entitled to register a household business manufacturing construction wood products?

Clause 1, Article 79 of Decree 168/2025/ND-CP provides: A household business is established by registration of an individual or family household members and is liable with all of its assets for the business activities of the household.

The persons eligible to establish a household business manufacturing construction wood products are determined under Clause 1, Article 80 of Decree 168/2025/ND-CP as follows:

Individuals and family household members who are Vietnamese citizens with full civil act capacity under the Civil Code are entitled to establish a household business, except for the following cases:

– Minors, persons with limited civil act capacity; persons who have lost civil act capacity; persons with difficulties in cognition and behavior control;

– Persons currently being prosecuted for criminal liability, in temporary detention, serving prison sentences, serving administrative handling measures at compulsory drug rehabilitation establishments or compulsory education establishments, or currently banned by the Court from holding positions, practicing a profession, or performing certain jobs;

– Other cases as prescribed by relevant laws.

Notes:

+ Individuals and family household members may only register one household business nationwide and are entitled to contribute capital, purchase shares, or purchase contributed capital in enterprises as individuals.

+ Individuals and family household members registering a household business may not concurrently be owners of private enterprises or general partners of partnerships, unless agreed by the remaining general partners.

What documents must an individual manufacturing construction wood products prepare to register a household business?

Individuals manufacturing construction wood products who wish to register a household business must prepare the documents prescribed in Clause 2, Article 87 of Decree 168/2025/ND-CP as follows:

Household business registration

1. Household business registration is carried out at the commune-level business registration authority where the household business’s head office is located.

2. The household business registration dossier includes:

a) The application for household business registration;

b) Legal documents of the individual for the household business owner, or for family household members registering the household business in case family household members register the household business;

c) A copy of the minutes of the family household members’ meeting on the establishment of the household business in case family household members register the household business;

d) A copy of the authorization document of family household members authorizing one member to be the household business owner in case family household members register the household business.
